I need your advise please, and I don´t know if I named my problem in the right plaiting term - I´m sorry about that. Perhaps you can tell me the right term.
I´ve got the following problem: I want to make a whip in one solid colour, but I want to set single "Highlights" or Interweaves in a different colour on the thong.
What I mean: Just a double-row of zig-zag, than again the thong colour. Should look like on of these beatiful ziggi-zaggis (the zig-zag on the top, but only two times):
Not the whole thong down, only as a element of design (as a "thong highlight" ). I want to cut the interweaving strand in the half width of the regular thong strands.
Can anybody tell me how this can be done?
Thank you for your help.
Kindest Regards from Germany,
Christopher
Ps. If anybody will not understand my embarrassing english - me neither! So feel free to ask

Hi Christopher,
There are a couple of ways this can be done ,depending on how many strands that you are using in the thong and the apperance that you want .
You can add the other color the same as you would if tying a pineapple knot or you can change your plait from straight herringbone to under 1 over 1 for a few stitches then back to herringbone .Then put the interweave in by making pairs then splitting them where you went U1 O1, after you have compeleted the thong.
If you you can wait a little I will try to get an instructional diagram done that you can follow and upload it to the new Members Downloadssection.
It may take me a week or so
Cheers Mate

Your description helped me already a lot and I think, if you have the time for an instructional diagram it would be fantastic (not only for me, for all other users too )!
I´m thinking about 12 or 16 strands.
The only thing that I don´t understand at this point is, how you can hide the ends of the interweaving strand without getting a knob at this appointment on the thong?
Sure I will wait - this is a good practise for my, sometimes inexistent, patience...
Again: Thank you...
All the best,
Christopher

Hi mate
The ends would be tuked in and trimmed off .I'm guessing that you are going to put this in the heavier part of the thong so there should not be to much movement to work things loose ..
Have been working on the site today hope this hasn't made trouble for you trying to post etc...
Will try and find the time to get the diagram done ...
Cheers
